Nottingham No 1

Posted on 8th January, 2016

Delighted to read in the Metro that Nottingham ranks as No 1 in the top 11 places to visit in England in 2016.

Everyone links Notingham to Robin Hood but how many have taken time to visit the city which  has a secret network of over 500 caves dating back to the Dark Ages. Nottingham Castle is not like the images known by millions from the film Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, but the building rebuilt after fire by the Duke of Newcastle commands an imposing position with huge views across the city and county.  Enjoy a drink at

Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem and  follow it up with lunch  in the cave pub The Hand and Heart.

If retail therapy is more to your taste, visit Paul Smith's original shop which stiull operates in Byard Lane in the city centre.  Close by  visit his flagship retail outlet in Willoughby House, a Grade II -listed building showcasing both men's and women's collections.  Ot ro rest your weary feet take in a film at the Broadway Cinema with a cinema screen room designed by Sir Paul in his signature stripe. Lots more ideaqs and information for your visit is available on line from Experience Nottinghamshre or we can give you some ideas to plan your visit during a stay here at Hrempis Farm Bed & Breakfast
