Oh to be in England!

It has been a strange spring, one minute freezing and roads closed with snow and then sweltering in unseasonal heat as the temperatures hit the high 20s. It means that everything that had been held back in the garden is now coming together in one glorious mass of colour.

Now the bluebells and wood anemones are coming into their full glory and here in Rempstone we are lucky to be able to head  into Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire to enjoy a glorious spring walk.

The Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust  Bunny Old Wood is are just a short drive from Rempstone. It is a lovely walk at any time of year but especially now as the carpets of colour are lit by the sun coming through the canopy of trees.

Into Leicestershire and another short drive takes you to The Outwoods, 110 acres of ancient woodland to the South of Loughborough and one of the oldest surviving woodland sites in Charnwood. There are a variety of different routes and walks, including an easy access path with bird feeding station and 24-hour car park.
